Rick Aguilar Studios had the opportunity to celebrate one of our favorite holidays this past weekend - Mother's Day.

As they say, the show must go on! Rain didn't keep our Portraits in the Park Mother's Day special from happening. Clients enjoyed coming to the warm, dry studio for their mini sessions instead. The mini portrait sessions were a bargain at $50. Watch for more mini-portrait specials throughout the year. Next time we'll hope for better weather!

Sunday's brunch at the Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile was a lovely way to celebrate this special holiday. All that attended were treated to a classic family portrait by Rick Aguilar, as well as a delicious assortment of brunch items by the hotel's renowned chefs.

On March 28th I had the unique opportunity to speak about something that I love to discuss, how to look your best in photographs. Smitten Boutique in Chicago hosted the event of soon to be married couples for a fun evening revolving around the topic of wedding photography.

Looking taller and thinner and of course a variety of ways to avoid the double chin! These tips are really very simple once you are shown how easy it is .

I had the pleasure of being invited to a new bridal boutique in Chicago, BHLDN which is part of Anthropologie . It is a boutique experience inside a much larger store, it is absolutely amazing, the words that came to mind are , understated Chic. It has heirloom-quality wedding gowns, artisanal hair adornments, footwear, and lingerie in addition to much more. If you are looking for something unique you must visit this new addition to the Chicago wedding family. I also had the pleasure of meeting Darcy Miller with Martha Stewart weddings, what a nice and charming lady with great insight on weddings.

Happy Valentines Day Chicago! Between sharing chocolates and flowers with loved ones, what better way to spend the work day than to spread the love amongst friends. Rick Aguilar Studios and Agency EA, a Chicago-based marketing agency, shared this lovely day together. Thanks to Calihan Catering, we were able to eat a delicious spread of hors d'oeuvres. Once the tummies were full and smiles were big the Studio offered it's Instant Party Photo Booth. The boas, hearts and hats makes a good way to share the fun memories.

Agency EA has done thousands of large and small events as well as working with Harpo Studios in which they put together numerous trips and Oprah's last show. Rick set this special occasion up 4 years ago with Gary, Agency EA's producer and office manager,as a thank you and appreciation of the close relationship that the two businesses have shared over the years.

We recently got in a new sample album that is a little different from traditional album formats. This one has a plexiglass cover over a beautiful photo of the couple on an old farm in Lake Forest IL. The orientation of the album is horizonal and opens from the bottom to reveal a cool square format.

We have a designer and retoucher in the studio that creates custom heirloom albums for our couples that really show off your wedding day. We also offer a variety of albums for anyones taste or budget.

I have also been asked by couples if we can design an album from our own images from a wedding that was not photographed by the studio, of course we can ! It is so fun to do that with different photographers from all over the world.
